We're wondering if it's possible to trigger events in Unreal from Maya, for particle simulations for instance.
I know that if you convert a shot it becomes a Matinee in UE. Maybe this is the way to do it? And on that note, are there any plans to use Sequencer instead of Matinee?
We will provide a new custom node in Maya to control UE particles in the future version. Exporting Sequencer is also on the list.
Before that, you may have to set event keys in Matinee to trigger particle simulations.
